Faculty Endowments
Foster the innovative work of our faculty.
UMass Amherst's faculty are winners of the Pulitzer Prize, MacArthur “genius” grant recipients, Guggenheim and Fulbright fellows, and members of the National Academies.
They contribute to UMass Amherst’s dynamic academic experience and drive research innovations.
Relative to other universities, however, UMass Amherst has few permanent endowments dedicated to recruiting and retaining outstanding faculty. In fact, some of the university's peer institutions have 10 times the number of faculty endowments that we do. It is crucial that we build permanent resources to support faculty with the ambition and skills to change lives, both on and beyond campus.
